Reflect on their usual choices and behavior in relationships
Practice standing up for what they believe in public
SESSION TWO: Peer Pressure
OBJECTIVES FOR STUDENTS: Students will:
Examine the pressure to "fit in" among their peers
Identify 'cliques' and 'groups' in their school and learn about being
themselves
Be able to distinguish between negative and positive peer pressure
Learn how peer pressure affects our decision making and choices
SESSION THREE: Conflict Resolution
OBJECTIVES FOR STUDENTS: Students will:
Gain an understanding of the Conflict Cycle
Examine the different styles of conflict resolution, and learn which are effective
Be able to define assertiveness and learn its importance in relationships
Differentiate between aggressive, assertive, and passive behaviors
SESSION FOUR: Choice and Accountability
OBJECTIVES FOR STUDENTS: Students will:
Be able to identify conscious and informed choices
Practice ways to make good choices
Learn to identify and accept consequences for their choices
Reflect on their own choices in life - past, present, and future
SESSION FIVE: Intro to Relationships
OBJECTIVES FOR STUDENTS: Students will:
Begin to understand the components of a healthy relationship
Identify how choices affect all form of relationships - particularly dating
relationships
Understand the need for respect and equality in all relationships
