OUR MISSION:
"Based on the belief that education is the foundation and channel for permanent change in attitudes and behaviors, the Katie Brown Educational Program promotes respectful relationships by teaching alternatives to relationship violence."
OUR WORK:
The KBEP has developed an innovative and interactive curriculum that is delivered to students in traditional classroom settings in public, private, and parochial schools. The educators also teach in non-traditional settings such as drug courts, jails, group homes, summer camps, parenting classes, etc. Through these educational initiatives, the KBEP Educators works with youth and adults to offer them (learn more).
The Katie Brown Educational Program is a HopeLine drop off center!
HopeLine is a program exclusive to Verizon Wireless that puts wireless services and equipment to work to assist victims of domestic violence. The long-running HopeLine program collects no-longer-used wireless phones and equipment in any condition from any service provider. The used phones are either refurbished or recycled. With the funds raised from the sale of the refurbished phones, Verizon Wireless donates wireless phones and airtime to victims, and provides funding and other contributions to non-profit domestic violence shelters and prevention programs across the country.
KBEP has opened a new office in Providence, Rhode Island!
